Safety Integrity Level(SIL) metric which is a measure of Probability of Failure, provides the level of risk reduction that is required for the Safety Instrumented Function(SIF). In order to meet the SIL determined for the Instrumented Function, Probability of Failure of the Function needs to be calculated. The probability of failure depends on failure rate of devices which make up the Instrumented Function. PFDright calculates the Probability of failure of the Elements and the total Function in order to meet the determined SIL. The tool performs the calculations based on failure rate integration method. The tool considers minimum, mean and maximum failure rates and addresses failure rate uncertainty. The product is designed by experts who have decades of experience in Functional Safety.
